2025年（令和7年）10月17日（金）に、秋田市議会議員や関係者向けの内覧会があり、参加してきました。コンパクトですが狭さを感じない作りで、千秋公園の自然の中に溶け込んだ素敵な施設でした。長い庇の下の1階のテラスや開放感のある2階のテラスは、千秋公園表門や二の丸広場を見渡せる広々としたスペースで、閉館時も入れることからお花見の時期には賑わいそうだなぁと思いましたし、普段からも使い勝手が良さそうでした。肝心の歴史史料は見応えのあるものが多く、特に甲冑は全面ガラス張りのケースに入っていますのでどの角度からも近くでじっくり見ることができるのはかなり珍しいとのこと。全ての史料にはQRコードが付いており、5ヶ国語での説明が聞けるとのこと。歴史史料の素晴らしさや展示の良さはさることながら、施設全体がとても素敵で、展望テラスなど公共スペースが多いので、千秋公園に行くついでに施設を見学に行くのでも楽しいと思います。
リニューアルオープンは10月25日（土）で、記念式典後10時から一般公開される予定ですので、ご興味がある方はぜひ足をお運びください。

October 20, 2025 – The Satake Historical Museum in Akita City Reopens
On Friday, October 17, 2025, I joined a special preview tour of the newly renovated Satake Historical Museum for Akita City Council members and related guests.
The building is compact, but it doesn’t feel small. It fits beautifully into the natural surroundings of Senshū Park. The first-floor terrace under the long roof and the open second-floor terrace both offer wide views of the park’s main gate and Ninomaru Square. Since these terraces can be used even when the museum is closed, I thought they will be a lively spot during the cherry blossom season, and convenient for daily use as well.
The historical materials on display are truly impressive. The armor collection, for example, is shown in full glass cases, so you can look closely from any angle — something quite rare. Every exhibit has a QR code that lets visitors listen to explanations in five languages.
Not only are the materials and displays excellent, but the entire facility itself is wonderful — with many public spaces like viewing terraces. I think it will be fun to stop by the museum while visiting Senshū Park.
The grand reopening will take place on Saturday, October 25, with a special ceremony, and the museum will open to the public from 10 a.m. If you are interested, please come and visit!

20 de octubre de 2025 – Reapertura del Museo Histórico Satake en la ciudad de Akita
El viernes 17 de octubre de 2025, participé en una visita previa especial del recién renovado Museo Histórico Satake, organizada para los miembros del Concejo Municipal de Akita y otras personas invitadas.
El edificio es compacto, pero no se siente pequeño. Está perfectamente integrado con la naturaleza del Parque Senshū. La terraza del primer piso, bajo el techo largo, y la terraza abierta del segundo piso ofrecen una vista amplia de la puerta principal y de la Plaza Ninomaru. Como se puede entrar a esas terrazas incluso cuando el museo está cerrado, pensé que durante la época del florecimiento de los cerezos será un lugar muy animado, y también práctico para visitar cualquier día.
Las piezas históricas expuestas son impresionantes. Por ejemplo, las armaduras están dentro de vitrinas de vidrio completo, lo que permite observarlas de cerca desde cualquier ángulo — algo poco común. Cada exposición tiene un código QR que permite escuchar explicaciones en cinco idiomas.
No solo las colecciones y las exhibiciones son excelentes, sino que todo el edificio es hermoso, con muchos espacios públicos como terrazas panorámicas. Creo que será muy agradable pasar por el museo cuando uno visite el Parque Senshū.
