秋田市浜田の大森山動物園の50周年式典に西部地区の議員ということで参加させていただきました。私は1974年生まれですが、大森山動物園は1973年に現在の場所に誕生したのですが、元々は千秋公園にあった児童動物園（1950年開園）を引き継ぐ形の市営の施設です。式典では、小松園長がパワーポイントで昔から現在に至るまでの変遷を、写真を使って説明してくださいましたが、自分が小さい頃の記憶の中の映像とリンクする写真が多くあり、懐かしさが込み上げました。
開園からの来園者の累計は1,200万人を超えるそうで、ここ最近は年間27万〜28万人が訪れているそうです！（秋田市の人口とほぼ同じ！）行動展示で見せ方を工夫しており、来園者が楽しめるために常に考えている観光地だと思います。自身が子どもの頃は親と、高校生くらいになると友人と、大学生くらいになると友人や彼女と、家族ができると自分の子どもと一緒に来園しましたので、ライフサイクルのスタイルに合わせて何度来ても何度でも楽しい、という場所だと思っています。
チンパンジーのボンタは開園当初からいた動物で、50歳ということを知ってびっくりしました。1コ上の先輩ですね！新しいサル舎ができたり、大森山ゆうえんちアニパの観覧車「フルール」が新設されたりと、アップデートした大森山動物園にまだ行っていないので、これを機にまた行ってみたいと思いました。

I attended the 50th-anniversary ceremony of the Omoriyama Zoo in Akita City, Hamada.
I participated as a West district council member. Although I was born in 1974, Omoriyama Zoo was established in its current location in 1973, taking over the Children’s Zoo (opened in 1950) that originally existed in Senshu Park. During the ceremony, Director Komatsu used a PowerPoint presentation to explain the zoo’s transformation from the past to the present, using photos. Many of these photos linked to the images from my childhood memories, and it brought back a sense of nostalgia.
The cumulative number of visitors since its opening has exceeded 12 million, and in recent years, it has been receiving around 270,000 to 280,000 visitors annually! (Roughly equivalent to the population of Akita City!) They have made efforts to enhance the visitor experience through interactive exhibits, making it a constantly evolving tourist destination. I believe it’s a place where you can have fun no matter how many times you visit, adapting to your lifestyle over the years.
Bonta the chimpanzee has been at the zoo since its opening, and I was surprised to learn that he is 50 years old now. He’s one generation ahead of us! With the construction of a new monkey enclosure and the addition of the “Fleur” Ferris wheel at Omoriyama Amusement Park Anipa, the zoo has been updated. Since I haven’t been there yet, I’d like to take this opportunity to visit again.

Asistí a la ceremonia del 50 aniversario del Zoológico de Omoriyama en Akita City, Hamada.
Participé como miembro del consejo del distrito de Oeste. Aunque nací en 1974, el Zoológico de Omoriyama se estableció en su ubicación actual en 1973, tomando el relevo del Zoológico Infantil (inaugurado en 1950) que originalmente existía en el Parque Senshu. Durante la ceremonia, el Director Komatsu utilizó una presentación de PowerPoint para explicar la transformación del zoológico desde el pasado hasta el presente, utilizando fotos. Muchas de estas fotos se vincularon con las imágenes de mis recuerdos de la infancia, y eso me trajo una sensación de nostalgia.
El número acumulativo de visitantes desde su apertura ha superado los 12 millones, ¡y en los últimos años ha estado recibiendo alrededor de 270,000 a 280,000 visitantes anualmente! (¡Aproximadamente equivalente a la población de la Ciudad de Akita!) Han hecho esfuerzos para mejorar la experiencia del visitante a través de exhibiciones interactivas, convirtiéndolo en un destino turístico en constante evolución. Creo que es un lugar donde puedes divertirte sin importar cuántas veces lo visites, adaptándose a tu estilo de vida a lo largo de los años. Bonta el chimpancé ha estado en el zoológico desde su apertura, y me sorprendió saber que ahora tiene 50 años. ¡Está una generación por delante de nosotros! Con la construcción de un nuevo recinto de monos y la incorporación de la rueda de la fortuna “Fleur” en el Parque de Atracciones de Omoriyama Anipa, el zoológico se ha actualizado. Dado que aún no he estado allí, me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para visitarlo nuevamente.
