選挙期間中に、候補者の私が自ら、選挙カーで秋田市郊外の選挙ポスター掲示板を回ってポスターを貼っていましたが、たくさんの市民の方とお話をしました。「選挙が終わったら、当選してもしなくても、地域の話を聞きにいきますね！」と、その方達には言っておりましたので、先日行ってきました。選挙期間中は、名前の入ったタスキをかけていましたし、候補者名の看板が車上に目立つ選挙カーでしたが、普通の乗用車で行きましたので、皆さん、最初は誰が来たのか、と思ったようでした。しかし、皆さんすぐに思い出してくださり、地域の課題や将来のあり方についてたくさん話してくださいました。こんなに田舎でも秋田市なのだよ、ここに住んでいる人がいるのを忘れてはならないよ、と話してくださいました。もう一度、秋田市を隈なく回ることで、秋田市の広さを実感し、そして秋田市の郊外に住む方々の想いを再確認しました。中には畑での立ち話もなんだから、お茶飲みにおいで、と言ってくださる方もおり、今度は地域の歴史などじっくり話を聞きに行きたいと思いました。
“I came to greet you.”
During the election period, as a candidate, I personally went around the election poster boards in the outskirts of Akita City in a campaign car and put up posters. I had the opportunity to speak with many citizens. I told them, “After the election, whether I win or not, I will come to listen to the concerns of the community!” So, I went as promised the other day. During the election period, I wore a sash with my name on it and had a campaign car with prominent signs displaying my name, but this time I went in a regular passenger car. At first, everyone seemed to wonder who had come. However, they quickly remembered and shared a lot about local issues and the future direction of the area. They reminded me not to forget that even in such a rural area, it is still part of Akita City and there are people living here. By touring Akita City thoroughly once again, I realized the vastness of the city and reaffirmed the feelings of the people living in the outskirts of Akita City. Some even invited me for a chat in their fields, saying, “Come have tea.” It made me want to visit and listen carefully to the local history next time.
“Vine a saludarlos.”
Durante el período electoral, como candidato, personalmente recorrí los paneles de carteles electorales en las afueras de la ciudad de Akita en un carro de campaña y pegué carteles. Tuve la oportunidad de conversar con muchos ciudadanos. Les dije: “Después de las elecciones, gane o no, ¡iré a escuchar las preocupaciones de la comunidad!”. Así que fui como lo prometí el otro día. Durante el período electoral, llevaba una banda con mi nombre y un carro de campaña con letreros destacados que mostraban mi nombre, pero esta vez fui en un carro de pasajeros normal. Al principio, todos parecían preguntarse quién había llegado. Sin embargo, rápidamente recordaron y compartieron mucho sobre los problemas locales y la dirección futura del área. Me recordaron no olvidar que incluso en una zona rural como esta, sigue siendo parte de la ciudad de Akita y hay personas que viven aquí. Al recorrer nuevamente de manera exhaustiva la ciudad de Akita, me di cuenta de la inmensidad de la ciudad y reafirmé los sentimientos de las personas que viven en las afueras de la ciudad de Akita. Incluso algunos me invitaron a charlar en sus campos, diciendo: “Ven a tomar café”. Eso me hizo querer visitar y escuchar con atención la historia local la próxima vez.
