【English】September 6, 2026 — Katsuhira Community Sports Day
I joined the Katsuhira Community Sports Day as a city council member and a participant from my neighborhood association. It was a busy day of greetings, running, and tug-of-war! Being in my fifties, I took part in the 50-meter race. The person in the next lane laughed and said, “I hardly ever exercise, so I’m a little nervous.”

With tents set up for each neighborhood, the event brought together people of all ages who rarely have time to talk in daily life. Tug-of-war was a good reminder that one person’s effort is not enough—we need to work together. Winning is fun, but sharing the experience as a team is what makes a community sports day special.

Events like this depend on everyone: those who compete, cheer, and work behind the scenes. As a member of this community, I hope to keep doing my part—even if it means working up a sweat! Thank you to everyone who helped organize the day and everyone who joined us.
