そうだよなぁ…と思いませんか？
「ちゃんとしている人って、やっぱり信頼されるよな」
「結局、最後に評価されるのは人柄なんじゃないか」
仕事でも、地域でも、子育てでも。
スキルや知識以上に、“人としてどうか”が問われる場面は意外と多いものです。
先日、秋田市議会議員として秋田市立秋田商業高等学校（秋商）の入学式に出席してきました。そこで感じたのは、「人づくりとは何か」という、とてもシンプルで、でも深いテーマでした。
■「さすが秋商」思わずうなった“人づくりの本気度”
式の中で印象的だったのが、高田屋馨校長の挨拶です。
品性を磨いてほしい
校訓である「感謝・勤勉・鍛錬」は、一生にわたる指針となる
この言葉を聞いたとき、「さすがだなぁ」と思いました。
秋商はよく
「物づくりは工業、人づくりは商業」
と言われます。
これは決して大げさではありません。実際、地域で活躍している方を見ていると、「実は秋商出身だった」というケースが本当に多い。
しかも共通しているのが、
- 礼儀正しい
- 挨拶がしっかりできる
- 相手への気配りが自然にできる
どの世代でも、この特徴が変わらないのです。
いわゆる「ゆとり世代」「Z世代」と言われる今の若者でも、秋商の生徒は変わらず、しっかりとした挨拶ができる。
これは偶然ではなく、学校として“人を育てる軸”がぶれていない証拠だと感じました。
■「伝統を受け継ぐ」その言葉の重み
新入生209名を代表して挨拶したのは、石井彩未さん。
その中で語られた言葉が、とても印象的でした。
106年の歴史の中で先輩方が築いてきた伝統と誇りを受け止め、自分たちも新たな一ページを刻みたい
実は、秋商の入学式では毎年のように「伝統を受け継ぐ」という言葉が語られます。
これ、多様性が重視される今の時代において、実はとてもすごいことだと思うのです。
「自分らしさ」を大切にしながら、同時に「積み重ねてきたもの」を尊重する。
簡単なようでいて、なかなかできることではありません。
さらに今年は、こんな言葉もありました。
簿記をはじめとした資格を多く取得したい。資格は未来の扉を開く鍵になる
この一言に、思わずすごいなぁと心の声が漏れました。
伝統を大切にしながら、しっかりと“未来を見据えている”。
そのバランス感覚こそが、秋商らしさなのだと感じました。
■社会に一番近い高校「スタートダッシュが違う理由」
式を通して改めて思ったのは、秋商の3年間は、社会への距離を一気に縮める時間だということです。
資格取得、実践的な学び、そして人間力。
これらが組み合わさることで、卒業後の姿が大きく変わります。
たとえるなら、他の学校が「助走」をしている間に、秋商の生徒はすでに「走り出している」ようなイメージです。
実際に社会に出たとき、
- 即戦力として期待される
- 周囲から可愛がられる
- 重要なポジションを任されやすい
こうした傾向があると感じています。
だからこそ、地域のさまざまな場面で、
秋商出身の方々が“要所”を担っているのではないでしょうか。
■「当たり前」を大切にする強さ
今回の入学式で改めて感じたのは、特別なことよりも、当たり前の積み重ねの強さです。
- 挨拶をする
- 感謝を忘れない
- コツコツ努力する
どれもシンプルですが、続けるのは簡単ではありません。
だからこそ、それを当たり前にできる人は強い。
新入生の皆さんは、これからその土台を3年間で築いていきます。
そしてその力は、きっと社会に出たときに大きな差となって現れるはずです。
この記事を読んでくださっている皆さんも、今日から一つだけでいいので「当たり前」なことを丁寧にやってみてください。
挨拶でも、感謝の一言でも構いません。
その小さな一歩が、気づけば大きな信頼につながっていくのではないでしょうか。

April 8, 2026 – Entrance Ceremony at AKISHO (Akita Municipal Akita Commercial High School)
Don’t you sometimes feel this way?
“People who are well-mannered are trusted.”
“In the end, what matters most is character.”
At work, in the community, and in raising children,
we often see that who you are as a person matters more than skills or knowledge.
Recently, I attended the entrance ceremony at AKISHO as a city council member.
What I felt there was a simple but deep idea:
What does it mean to build people?
■ “This is AKISHO” – serious about building character
One of the most impressive moments was the speech by the principal.
He said:
“Please develop good character.”
“Our school motto—Gratitude, Diligence, and Discipline—will guide you for life.”
When I heard this, I thought, “This is exactly AKISHO.”
There is a saying:
“Technical schools build things. Commercial schools build people.”
This is not an exaggeration.
In our community, many active and successful people are AKISHO graduates.
And they often share the same qualities:
Polite manners
Clear greetings
Natural care for others
No matter the generation, these traits stay the same.
Even today’s young people, often called Gen Z, AKISHO students still greet others properly.
This shows that the school has a strong and steady focus on building character.
■ The meaning of “carrying on tradition”
A new student representative, Ms. Ayami Ishii, spoke on behalf of 209 students.
She said:
“We will respect the tradition and pride built over 106 years, and add our own new page.”
At AKISHO, the phrase “carry on tradition” is often used.
In today’s world, where individuality is important,
this is actually very impressive.
To value your own identity, and at the same time respect what came before—this is not easy.
She also said:
“I want to earn many certifications, such as bookkeeping. These will open doors for my future.”
This showed a strong balance:
Respecting tradition while looking clearly toward the future.
■ A school close to society
Through the ceremony, I felt that the three years at AKISHO bring students much closer to real society.
With:
Professional certifications
Practical learning
Strong character
students grow quickly.
It is like this:
While others are still preparing to run, AKISHO students have already started running.
In society, they are often:
Ready to work immediately
Trusted and liked by others
Given important roles early
That is why many AKISHO graduates play key roles in the community.
■ The strength of doing simple things well
What I felt most strongly at this ceremony was this:
True strength comes from doing simple things every day.
Say hello
Be thankful
Keep working step by step
These are simple, but not easy to continue.
That is why people who can do them are strong.
The new students will build this foundation over the next three years.
And this will make a big difference in their future.

Say “thank you” sincerely

¿No le ha pasado pensar así?
“Las personas correctas generan confianza.”
“Al final, lo más importante es el carácter.”
En el trabajo, en la comunidad y en la familia, muchas veces importa más cómo es uno como persona que sus habilidades.
Recientemente asistí como concejal municipal a la ceremonia de ingreso de AKISHO.
Lo que sentí allí fue una idea simple pero profunda:
¿Qué significa formar personas?
■ “Esto es AKISHO” – formación de carácter
El director dijo:
“Desarrollen su carácter.”
“Nuestro lema—gratitud, esfuerzo y disciplina—será su guía para toda la vida.”
Pensé: “Esto es realmente AKISHO.”
Se dice: “Las escuelas técnicas crean cosas. Las comerciales crean personas.”
No es una exageración.
En la comunidad, muchas personas activas son egresadas de AKISHO.
Y comparten características:
Buena educación
Buenos saludos
Consideración hacia los demás
Esto no cambia con las generaciones.
■ El valor de continuar la tradición
La representante estudiantil, la señorita Ayami Ishii, dijo:
“Respetaremos la tradición de 106 años y construiremos nuestro propio camino.”
En AKISHO, esta idea es muy importante.
En un mundo donde se valora la individualidad,
lograr ese equilibrio es algo admirable.
También dijo:
“Quiero obtener muchas certificaciones. Serán la llave para mi futuro.”
Esto muestra una gran visión:
Respetar el pasado y mirar al futuro.
■ Una escuela cercana a la sociedad
En AKISHO, los estudiantes:
Obtienen certificaciones
Aprenden de forma práctica

Por eso, avanzan más rápido.
Es como si otros aún se preparan, y ellos ya están corriendo.

La verdadera fuerza está en hacer bien lo básico.
