「新しい環境に飛び込むとき、不安とワクワクが半分ずつ」
「自分の“好き”って、この先ちゃんと役に立つのだろうか」
大人になった今でも、ふとそんな気持ちがよぎる瞬間がありませんか？
本日、秋田市議会議員として秋田公立美術大学附属高等学院の入学式に出席してきました。
その場にあったのは、まさにそんな“揺れる気持ち”と、“それでも一歩踏み出す強さ”でした。
今日は、その現場で感じたことをお届けします。
■思わず口ずさむ！？「距離を縮める校歌の力」
まず印象的なのが、校歌だと思います。
正直に言います。
もう覚えてしまいました（笑）
それくらい親しみやすく、自然と口ずさめる校歌なんです。
入学式というと、どこか緊張感のある空間を想像しがちですが、
この校歌が流れた瞬間、会場の空気がふっとやわらぎました。
新入生にとっても、
「ここにいていいんだ」と思える、最初の“居場所”になるのではないかと感じました。
学校というのは、勉強だけでなく、
こうした“空気づくり”がとても大事なんだと改めて実感しました。
■「アートは特別じゃない」すべてにつながる学び
尾澤勇校長の言葉が印象的でした。
アートはすべての分野につながる
これは一見、芸術の話のようでいて、実はとても現実的な話です。
たとえば――
- 商品のパッケージデザイン
- SNSで目を引く写真や動画
- 街づくりの景観や空間設計
どれも「感性」や「表現」が関わっています。
さらに校長はこう続けました。
「不透明な時代だからこそ、アートを通して学んだことが生きてくる」
先が見えにくい今の時代。
マニュアル通りでは通用しない場面が増えています。
そんなときに頼りになるのが、
「どう感じるか」「どう表現するか」という力です。
これは、議会の現場でも同じです。
正解が一つではない中で、どう考え、どう伝えるか。
アート的な思考は、むしろ社会のあらゆる場面で必要とされています。
■4000年を超えて残るもの「秋田のアートの底力」
秋田公立美術大学の北郷悟学長の話は、まるで歴史の旅のようでした。
- 約4,000年前、秋田では縄文文化が花開いていた
- アルカリ土壌のため人骨は残らない
- しかし、朱塗りの櫛や赤いポシェットは残っている
つまり、「アートだけが時を超えて残っている」ということです。
さらに、江戸時代中期の「秋田蘭画」。
遠近法など新しい技法を取り入れ、当時の江戸の美術にも影響を与えました。
秋田は、実は“表現の先進地”でもあったのです。
私たちはつい、「都会の方がすごい」と思いがちですが、
足元を見れば、誇るべき歴史と文化がしっかりと根付いています。
学長は「市内の美術館でぜひ見てほしい」と話していました。
これは本当に、その通りだと思います。
■一番心に残った言葉「健康であること」
そして、個人的に一番胸に刺さったのが北郷悟学長のこの言葉です。
一番大事なことは、健康であること
シンプルですが、とても重い言葉です。
健康であるからこそ、
- 正しい色を見分けられる
- デザインを理解できる
- そして、それを再現できる
つまり、すべての表現の土台が「健康」なのです。
忙しい毎日の中で、つい後回しにしがちな自分の体調。
しかし、どんな夢も、どんな挑戦も、健康があってこそ。
議員としても、市民の健康を守る政策の重要性を改めて感じました。
■「好き」を信じて一歩踏み出す勇気
入学生代表、吉田一華さんの言葉もとても印象的でした。
「小さい頃から絵を描くこと、色を塗ることが大好きだった」
その「好き」が、この学校との出会いにつながったそうです。
さらに、
- 地域とのつながり
- 交流活動など多彩な教育
に魅力を感じて入学を決意。
入試ではデッサンが必須だったものの、
それまで経験がなく、一から努力して乗り越えたとのこと。
そして最後に、
初心を忘れずに高校生活を過ごしたい
この言葉に、会場の空気が少し引き締まりました。
“好き”だけでは乗り越えられない壁もある。
でも、“好き”があるからこそ、挑戦できる。
とてもまっすぐで、力強いメッセージでした。
■まとめ：「ちょっと気になる」を大事にしてみませんか
入学式に立ち会いながら、こんなことを感じました。
人は誰でも、心のどこかに「好き」や「気になる」を持っています。
でも、大人になるにつれて、それを見ないふりをしてしまうことも多い。
しかし、今回の新入生たちは違いました。
自分の「好き」を信じて、一歩踏み出しています。
だからこそ、私たちもほんの少しだけでいい。
- 気になっていた美術館に行ってみる
- 子どもの「好き」を応援してみる
- 自分の興味に正直になってみる
そんな小さな行動が、新しい景色を見せてくれるかもしれません。
春はスタートの季節です。
ぜひあなたも、「ちょっと気になる」をそのままにせず、一歩踏み出してみてください。
その一歩が、思っている以上に未来を広げてくれます。

“When you step into a new environment, you feel both nervous and excited.”
“Will what I love really help me in the future?”
Even as adults, we sometimes feel this way.
Recently, I attended the entrance ceremony of the Akita Municipal Junior College of Arts & Crafts High School as a city council member. What I saw there was exactly that mix of feelings—and the strength to still take a step forward.
Today, I would like to share what I felt.
■ A school song that brings people closer
One thing that really impressed me was the school song.
To be honest, I already remember it (laugh).
It is simple, warm, and easy to sing.
When the song started, the atmosphere in the hall became softer.
For the new students, I felt it may become their first “place where they belong.”
A school is not only about studying.
The feeling and atmosphere it creates are also very important.
■ “Art is not special” – it connects to everything
The principal, Mr. Isamu Ozawa, said something very important:
“Art connects to all fields.”
At first, it sounds like a statement about art.
But it is actually very practical.
For example:
Product design
Photos and videos on social media
City planning and public spaces
All of these need creativity and expression.
He also said:
“In an uncertain world, what you learn through art will help you.”
Today, there is no single correct answer.
So the ability to think and express yourself becomes very important.
This is also true in the city council.
We must think carefully and communicate clearly, even without clear answers.
■ What remains over 4,000 years
The president of the university, Mr. Satoru Kitago, spoke about history.
About 4,000 years ago, Jomon culture flourished in Akita
Human bones did not remain because of the soil
But red-painted combs and small bags still exist
In other words, art remains over time.
He also talked about “Akita Ranga” from the Edo period, which influenced art in Japan.
Akita is not just a rural area.
It has a strong history of creativity and expression.
■ The most important message: “Stay healthy”
The most powerful message for me was this:
“The most important thing is to stay healthy.”
It sounds simple, but it is very deep.
Only when you are healthy can you:
See colors correctly
Understand design
Create your own work
Health is the base of everything.
This reminded me again how important it is to support people’s health in our city.
■ The courage to follow what you love
The student representative, Ms. Ichika Yoshida, also gave a wonderful speech.
She said:
“I have loved drawing and coloring since I was a child.”
Because of that, she chose this school.
She also said:
She was interested in community activities
She worked hard to learn drawing for the entrance exam
And she ended with:
“I want to keep my初心 (original passion) during my school life.”
Her words were simple, but very strong.
Liking something is not always easy.
But it gives you the power to try.
■ Conclusion: Take one small step
At the ceremony, I realized something:
Everyone has something they like or feel curious about.
But as we grow older, we sometimes ignore it.
These students did not.
They believed in what they love and took a step forward.
So maybe we can do the same:
Visit a museum you were curious about
Support a child’s interests
Be honest with your own feelings
Spring is the season of new beginnings.
Take one small step.
It may open a new future for you.

7 de abril de 2026 – Ceremonia de ingreso en la Escuela Secundaria Afiliada a la Universidad de Arte de Akita
“Cuando uno entra en un nuevo entorno, siente nervios y emoción al mismo tiempo.”
“¿Lo que me gusta realmente servirá en el futuro?”
Incluso como adultos, a veces sentimos eso.
Recientemente, asistí como concejal municipal a la ceremonia de ingreso de esta escuela. Allí pude ver justamente esa mezcla de sentimientos, junto con la fuerza para dar un paso adelante.
Hoy quisiera compartir lo que sentí.
■ Una canción escolar que acerca a las personas
Algo que me impresionó mucho fue la canción de la escuela.
Para ser sincero, ya me la aprendí (risas).
Es sencilla, cálida y fácil de cantar.
Cuando comenzó, el ambiente se volvió más relajado.
Para los nuevos estudiantes, puede convertirse en su primer “lugar donde pertenecen”.
La escuela no es solo estudiar.
El ambiente también es muy importante.
■ “El arte no es algo especial” – está en todo
El director, el señor Isamu Ozawa, dijo algo muy importante:
“El arte está conectado con todos los campos.”
Parece una idea artística, pero es muy práctica.
Por ejemplo:
Diseño de productos
Fotos y videos en redes sociales
Diseño de ciudades y espacios
Todo necesita creatividad y expresión.
También dijo:
“En un mundo incierto, lo que uno aprende a través del arte será útil.”
Hoy no hay una sola respuesta correcta.
Por eso, pensar y expresarse bien es muy importante.
Esto también aplica en el concejo municipal.
■ Lo que permanece por más de 4,000 años
El rector, el señor Satoru Kitago, habló sobre la historia.

Pero objetos artísticos sí permanecen

■ El valor de seguir lo que a usted le gusta
La representante estudiantil, la señorita Ichika Yoshida, dijo:
“Desde pequeña me gusta dibujar y colorear.”
Por eso eligió esta escuela.
También habló de:
Su interés por la comunidad
Su esfuerzo para aprender dibujo
Y terminó diciendo:
“Quiero mantener mi pasión inicial.”
Sus palabras fueron simples, pero muy fuertes.
■ Conclusión: dé un pequeño paso
En la ceremonia pensé algo importante:
Todos tenemos algo que nos gusta.
Pero a veces lo dejamos de lado.
Estos estudiantes no lo hicieron.
Creyeron en sí mismos y avanzaron.
