どうして政治の道を目指そうと思ったのですか、という質問をよくされます。公務員を辞めて決意したこともあり、公務員という立場を超える強い気持ちは何なのか、と思われるのかもしれません。
2022年10月に誕生日を迎え、48歳になりました。ウェブサイトで、2022年の日本人の平均年齢が48歳である、と知りました。（出典：米国中央情報局 THE WORLD FACT BOOK) その時に自分が、日本人の中央値にいることにやや驚き（世界で2番目に高い平均年齢であることにも驚きました）、同時にこれは政治の世界を目指すにはすごくチャンスだな、と思ったのが理由です。
だって、世間からは「若造は分かってない」とも「おっさんは早く退け」とも言われない、ちょうど真ん中にいるわけですから。
そして、若者といわれる層の気持ちも分かるし、年配者といわれる層の気持ちも分かる年齢でもあり、また両方の橋のような存在になれる年齢でもあるわけです。
また、現在の秋田の政治の世界には、「国際感覚」「理系」「参加型の手法」を持っている政治家がほとんどいないのも理由の一つです。自分はその3つを持っていて、秋田のために何かをしたいと思っている、これももう一つの理由でもあります。

I am often asked why I decided to pursue a career in politics. People may wonder what drives me to go beyond my position as a civil servant, especially since I made the decision to leave that job.
In October 2022, I turned 48 years old. I learned from a website that the average age of Japanese people in 2022 is 48 years old, according to The World Fact Book published by the US Central Intelligence Agency. At that time, I was somewhat surprised to find myself in the median age range for Japanese people (and also surprised to learn that Japan has the second-highest average age in the world). At the same time, I realized that this presented a great opportunity to enter the world of politics.
After all, I am not too young to be considered inexperienced, nor am I too old to be asked to step aside. I am right in the middle.
I am also at an age where I can understand the feelings of both young people and older people, and I can serve as a bridge between the two.
Another reason why I decided to pursue politics is that there are very few politicians in Akita who have an “international perspective,” a “scientific mindset,” and a “participatory approach.” I possess all three qualities and I want to do something for Akita. This is another reason why I am running for office.

Me preguntan con frecuencia por qué decidí dedicarme a la política. Tal vez se preguntan por qué tengo un fuerte deseo de trascender la posición de funcionario público, sobre todo después de haber renunciado a mi trabajo.
En octubre de 2022 cumplí 48 años. Descubrí en un sitio web que la edad promedio de los japoneses en 2022 es de 48 años, según el Libro Mundial de Datos de la Agencia Central de Inteligencia de EE. Otra razón por la que decidí dedicarme a la política es que hay muy pocos políticos en Akita que tengan una “perspectiva internacional”, una “mentalidad científica” y un “enfoque participativo”. Yo poseo estas tres cualidades y quiero hacer algo por Akita. Esta es otra razón por la que me presento como candidato.
