2024年6月23日（日）は、朝から3箇所のイベントに出席したり視察したりしました。
第15回西部地区交流野球大会開会式
まず、朝8時過ぎに第15回西部地区交流野球大会開会式に出席しました。この大会は50歳以上の野球愛好者が参加し、還暦野球や500歳野球などの他の大会にも出場する熱心な人々が交流するイベントです。秋田市西部地区（茨島、勝平、新屋、下浜）から5チームが参加し、市長や市議会議員の挨拶、市長による始球式（私は捕手を務めました）など、和気藹々とした雰囲気で楽しみました。
昨年は家族の発熱で急遽欠席したため、今年の開会式を心待ちにしていました。勝平のチームには地元の知り合いが数人おり、ちゃんと挨拶することができました。始球式では市長のワンバウンドの球をキャッチし、地域の方からお褒めいただきましたが、実はそれは「50歳になったらウチのチームに来いよ」と言う意味を含んだリップサービスだったのかもしれません。
新屋高校の学校祭
次に、9時半過ぎに新屋高校の学校祭を訪れました。この高校はバドミントン部やサッカー部、吹奏楽部が強豪で、親友がPTA会長を務めています。彼を訪ねて学校の食堂を視察しました。昨今、学食の運営が困難な状況が増えており、新屋高校も1年前にOBが学食を再開しました。メニューはとても安く、親御さんに負担をかけないよう配慮されていますが、実際にはギリギリの運営状態です。故障した業務用冷蔵庫の対策についても考えましたが、とりあえず現状を確認しました。
ブラウブリッツ秋田対清水エスパルス戦ホームゲーム
最後に、ブラウブリッツ秋田から秋田県議会議員と秋田市議会議員向けのブラウブリッツ秋田対清水エスパルス戦「ホームゲームツアー」に招待され参加してきました。ブラウブリッツからの資料説明、チームバス入りの出迎え、飲食ブースの視察、ピッチ内での県民歌斉唱などを行い、その後試合を観戦しました。
ブラウブリッツ秋田の試合が地域社会に果たす役割やクラブの存在意義、来場者の熱意を感じました。飲食ブースの売上は1日平均12万円で、年間20回のホームゲームが行われていることから、キッチンカーは年間売上の約3分の2をホームゲームで稼いでいるとのことです。
私は、GKの圍さんと仲が良く、彼は秋田のために精力的に活動していて大好きな選手です。彼のような県外から来て秋田のために必死で何かをしようと行動する選手達に心動かされますが、新スタジアムの建設については、市民のためにきちんと議論していく必要があります。ブラウブリッツ秋田の実力や増え続けるサポーター、まちづくりへの貢献を考慮し、税金投入の理由を明確にすることが重要です。ブラウブリッツ秋田は、たくさんの子ども達が遊べるパークをスタジアム周辺に作り、イベントを行っており、家族単位で楽しめる環境を提供しています。さらに、アウェーからの来場者も増えており、サッカーが地域交流やまちづくりに重要な要素を持つことを感じました。
これからも「すべては市民のため」という基軸をぶらさず、議論を進めていくことが必要だと思いました。

A Day Attending Multiple Events
On June 23, 2024 (Sunday), I attended and inspected three events from morning to afternoon.
15th Western District Baseball Exchange Tournament Opening Ceremony
First, shortly after 8 AM, I attended the opening ceremony of the 15th Western District Baseball Exchange Tournament. This tournament is for baseball enthusiasts aged 50 and over, who also participate in other events like the Koshien Baseball and the 500-year Baseball tournaments. Five teams from the western district of Akita City (Barajima, Katsuhira, Araya, and Shimohama) participated. The event included greetings from the mayor and city council members, and the mayor threw the first pitch (I acted as the catcher). The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable.
Last year, I had to cancel my attendance due to a family member’s sudden illness, so I was looking forward to this year’s opening ceremony. I was able to greet several acquaintances from Katsuhira’s team properly. During the first pitch, I successfully caught the mayor’s one-bounce throw, which earned me compliments from the locals, though it might have been a playful invitation to join their team when I turn 50.
Araya High School Festival
Next, around 9:30 AM, I visited the Araya High School Festival. This school is known for its strong badminton, soccer, and brass band teams. My close friend is the PTA president, so I visited him and inspected the school cafeteria. Recently, school cafeterias have been struggling with declining usage and sales, leading to operational challenges. Araya High School’s cafeteria was reopened a year ago by an alumnus who runs a restaurant. The menu is very affordable, showing a concern for minimizing the burden on parents, but the cafeteria is still barely managing to operate. I also looked into potential solutions for their broken commercial refrigerator.
Blaublitz Akita vs. Shimizu S-Pulse Home Game
Lastly, I participated in the “Home Game Tour” hosted by Blaublitz Akita for Akita prefectural and city council members. The tour included explanations from Blaublitz, welcoming the team bus, inspecting the food stalls, singing the prefectural song with the players on the pitch, and then watching the game.
I learned about the role of Blaublitz Akita’s games in the community, the club’s significance, and the enthusiasm of the fans. The food stalls reported an average daily sales of 120,000 yen, with about two-thirds of the annual sales of food trucks coming from the 20 home games.
I have a good relationship with goalkeeper Kakoi, who is passionate about contributing to Akita. During last year’s heavy rain, he and some players volunteered in Gojome and gathered necessary supplies. His dedication to Akita is inspiring.
Regarding the new stadium’s location, it’s important to review past discussions and ensure that “everything is for the citizens” remains the core principle. Since public funds are involved, we need to justify why soccer, why the city should bear the cost, and to what extent. Blaublitz Akita’s strength, their growing supporters, and contributions to community development should be considered. Blaublitz has created parks around the stadium for children to play, organized events, and provided an environment where families can enjoy their time before and after matches. Additionally, the number of visiting supporters from other regions is increasing, highlighting soccer’s role in promoting community interaction and town development.
Moving forward, it is essential to keep the focus on “everything for the citizens” and continue the discussions.

Un Día Asistiendo a Múltiples Eventos
El 23 de junio de 2024 (domingo), asistí e inspeccioné tres eventos desde la mañana hasta la tarde.
Ceremonia de Apertura del 15º Torneo de Intercambio de Béisbol del Distrito Oeste
Primero, poco después de las 8 a.m., asistí a la ceremonia de apertura del 15º Torneo de Intercambio de Béisbol del Distrito Oeste. Este torneo es para entusiastas del béisbol mayores de 50 años, que también participan en otros eventos como el Béisbol Koshien y el Torneo de Béisbol de 500 años. Participaron cinco equipos del distrito oeste de la ciudad de Akita (Barajima, Katsuhira, Araya y Shimohama). El evento incluyó saludos del alcalde y miembros del concejo municipal, y el alcalde lanzó la primera bola (yo actué como receptor). El ambiente fue animado y agradable.
El año pasado, tuve que cancelar mi asistencia debido a una enfermedad repentina de un familiar, por lo que esperaba con ansias la ceremonia de apertura de este año. Pude saludar adecuadamente a varios conocidos del equipo de Katsuhira. Durante el primer lanzamiento, logré atrapar el lanzamiento del alcalde que dio un bote, lo que me valió elogios de los lugareños, aunque podría haber sido una invitación juguetona para unirme a su equipo cuando cumpla 50 años.

Luego, alrededor de las 9:30 a.m., visité el Festival de la Escuela Secundaria de Araya. Esta escuela es conocida por sus fuertes equipos de bádminton, fútbol y banda de música. Mi amigo cercano es el presidente del PTA, así que lo visité e inspeccioné la cafetería de la escuela. Recientemente, las cafeterías escolares han estado luchando con el uso y las ventas en declive, lo que lleva a desafíos operativos. La cafetería de la Escuela Secundaria de Araya fue reabierta hace un año por un exalumno que administra un restaurante. El menú es muy asequible, mostrando preocupación por minimizar la carga sobre los padres, pero la cafetería aún apenas logra operar. También investigué posibles soluciones para su refrigerador comercial roto.
Partido en Casa de Blaublitz Akita contra Shimizu S-Pulse
Finalmente, participé en el “Tour del Partido en Casa” organizado por Blaublitz Akita para miembros del consejo municipal y del consejo prefectural de Akita. El tour incluyó explicaciones de Blaublitz, la bienvenida al autobús del equipo, la inspección de los puestos de comida, el canto de la canción prefectural con los jugadores en el campo, y luego ver el partido.
