これまで、成人式と呼ばれていたイベントが、二十歳のつどい、という名称に秋田市を含む多くの自治体で変更されています。令和4年4月1日より成年年齢が、20歳から18歳に引き下げられましたが、多くの自治体では、成人＝20歳を前提として人生の節目をお祝いし、大人として自覚を促す機会として、このような会を開催しています。
女性は、ほとんどの参加者が振袖で、とても煌びやかでした。雪が降っておらず天気が良かったので、たくさんの参加者が入口で写真を撮ったり、友人との再会に懐かしんだりしており、自分も29年前を思い出しました。
髪を結い、振袖を着るには、美容院と着付けが必要で、一番早い人だと、当日の朝の3時から予約して準備をするとのこと。夕方に友人たちと飲みに行く頃には眠さがピークに達しそうですね。
二十歳を迎えた皆様、おめでとうございます。

I participated in the gathering for those turning twenty (Hatachi-no-tsudoi).
Until now, the event known as the coming-of-age ceremony has been renamed to “Gathering for Those Turning Twenty” in many municipalities, including Akita City. Although the age of adulthood was lowered from 20 to 18 on April 1, Reiwa 4 (2022), in many municipalities, the celebration of this milestone in life, based on the premise that adulthood begins at 20, continues as an opportunity to encourage self-awareness as an adult.
For females, most participants wore furisode, making the event very glamorous. Since it wasn’t snowing and the weather was good, many participants took photos at the entrance, reminisced with friends, and I too recalled memories from 29 years ago.
To tie their hair and wear furisode, participants need the services of a beauty salon and assistance with dressing. The earliest ones start preparations as early as 3 a.m. on the day of the event. By the time they go out for drinks with friends in the evening, they are likely to be at the peak of exhaustion.

Participé en la reunión de los veinte años (Hatachi-no-tsudoi).
Hasta ahora, el evento conocido como la ceremonia de mayoría de edad ha sido cambiado en muchos municipios, incluido Akita City, a “Reunión de los Veinte Años”. A pesar de que la edad adulta se redujo de 20 a 18 años el 1 de abril de 2022, en muchos municipios, la celebración de este hito en la vida, basada en la premisa de que la adultez comienza a los 20 años, continúa como una oportunidad para fomentar la conciencia de sí mismo como adulto.
Para las mujeres, la mayoría de las participantes llevaban furisode, haciendo que el evento fuera muy glamoroso. Dado que no estaba nevando y el clima era bueno, muchas participantes tomaron fotos en la entrada, recordaron con nostalgia a amigos, y yo también recordé momentos de hace 29 años.
Para peinarse y usar furisode, las participantes necesitan los servicios de un salón de belleza y ayuda con el vestuario. Las más tempranas comienzan los preparativos a las 3 a. m. del día del evento. Para cuando salen a tomar algo con amigos por la tarde, es probable que estén en el pico de agotamiento.
