日吉八幡神社が今年度勧請700年祭を迎えるにあたり、担ぎ御輿を川反通りで盛大に担ぎ上げを行いました。
初めての経験でしたが、自分は背が高いため、どのポジションに行っても御輿の重さが100%肩にかかり、本当にきつかったです！あんなハードなのか！と日本の伝統に触れ畏敬と感動の念を抱きつつも、「なぜ軽くしないのか、肩に当たる部分を担ぎ易い丸みのある形にしないのか、クッションをつけないのか、LEDで光らせたらいいのに…」など、どうしたらたくさんの人が楽しんで担いでくれるのか様々な事を考えながら大汗かいて担ぎました！とても良い経験になりました！
でも来年は…ちょっと考えさせてください笑

The mikoshi of Hie Hachiman Shrine
In celebration of the 700th anniversary of Hie Hachiman Shrine this year, a grand mikoshi (portable shrine) procession took place along Kawabata Street. It was my first time participating, and due to my height, I felt the full weight of the mikoshi on my shoulders no matter which position I took. It was truly challenging! Experiencing this traditional Japanese custom, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and amazement.
While I marveled at the tradition, I also found myself pondering various ideas to make it more enjoyable for participants. I thought, “Why not make it lighter? Why not design it with more ergonomic curves to distribute the weight better? How about adding cushions? And wouldn’t it be cool if we could illuminate it with LED lights?” So, I carried the mikoshi while breaking a sweat and contemplating these ideas. It was a very enriching experience!
But as for next year… well, I need a little time to think about it, haha!

El mikoshi del Santuario Hie Hachiman
En celebración del 700º aniversario del Santuario Hie Hachiman este año, se llevó a cabo una gran procesión de mikoshi (santuario portátil) a lo largo de la calle Kawabata. Fue la primera vez que participé y, debido a mi altura, sentí todo el peso del mikoshi en mis hombros sin importar la posición que tomara. ¡Fue realmente desafiante! Experimentar esta costumbre tradicional japonesa me hizo sentir un profundo respeto y asombro.
Mientras admiraba la tradición, también me encontré reflexionando sobre diversas ideas para hacerla más placentera para los participantes. Pensé: “¿Por qué no hacerlo más ligero? ¿Por qué no diseñarlo con curvas ergonómicas para distribuir mejor el peso? ¿Qué tal agregar cojines? ¿Y no sería genial si pudiéramos iluminarlo con luces LED?” Así que llevé el mikoshi mientras sudaba y contemplaba estas ideas. Fue una experiencia muy enriquecedora. Pero en cuanto al próximo año… bueno, necesito un poco de tiempo para pensarlo, ¡jaja!
