選挙カーには、候補者の名前を連呼するウグイス嬢と呼ばれる女性（元々、「ウグイス嬢」とは球場内で、アナウンスを担当する女性職員のことを指していたようで、その後、選挙カーでの演説などをする女性もウグイス嬢と呼ばれるようになったとか。なぜ、ウグイスなのか、それは当時のマスコミが美しい声で仲間を呼び寄せるウグイスという鳥に由来して彼女たちを「ウグイス嬢」と名付けたのだそうです。男性の場合は、なぜかカラスと呼ばれます。）が乗っています。
キクチタダオ陣営には、よく通る張りのあるヴォーカルヴォイスの伊藤一恵さんがお手伝いしてくれていますが、途中2日間だけ用事があるということで抜けることになっていました。代わりにお手伝いしたい！と声を上げていただいたのが、仙道聡子さんでした。彼女はまだ7か月の乳児がいる方なので、おっぱいが張ってきたり、お子さんの授乳タイムになったりしたら、どこかの駐車場でお子さんを旦那さんに連れてきてもらって授乳する約束でウグイス嬢をお願いしていました。まだ授乳している女性だって、周囲のサポートがあれば働くことができるって事を、選挙中から実践したい！と思っていましたので、聡子さんからの申し出は本当に嬉しかったです。
子育て世代の政策を考えるためには、実際に体験してみることが大切だと思います。親は子どもを育てますが、子どもに育てられて親になる、と思っています。つまり、実践して、経験して、修正して、知見となって、初めてその存在になると思います。授乳中の女性が働く、と言うのは簡単ですが、どうしたら親子共にベストなのか、周囲の人と共に実践して、経験して、修正して、知見となって初めて授乳中の女性が働く環境が整うのだと思います。
“Nursing time for the Uguisu girls”
On election campaign vehicles, there are women called “Uguisu girls” who repeatedly announce the candidate’s name. Originally, the term “Uguisu girl” referred to female staff who announced at the ballparks, and later, women who give speeches on election campaign vehicles also came to be called “Uguisu girls”. As for why they are called Uguisu, apparently the media at the time named them after the bird Uguisu (Japanese Bush Warbler), which calls its companions with a beautiful voice. For some reason, men are called “karasu” (crow) in this context.
In the Kikuchi Tadao camp, Ito Kazue with her powerful vocal voice often passes by and helps out, but she had to leave for two days due to some business. In her place, Satoko Sendo offered to help out. Since she has a 7-month-old baby, it was arranged that if her breasts became engorged or it was time for her child to breastfeed, she would ask to be excused to go to a parking lot to breastfeed her baby while her husband brought the baby to her. I was really happy about Satoko’s offer because I wanted to put into practice the idea that even women who are still breastfeeding can work with the support of those around them during the election campaign.
I think it is important to actually experience and try raising a child in order to consider policies for child-rearing generations. Parents raise children, but I think becoming a parent is also about being raised by your child. In other words, it is through practice, experience, correction, and knowledge that we become better parents. It is easy to say that women who are breastfeeding should work, but I think it is only through practicing, experiencing, correcting, and gaining knowledge with those around us that we can create an environment where breastfeeding women can work and have the best possible outcome for both the parent and child.
“Tiempo de lactancia de la señora del uguisu”
En los coches electorales, hay una mujer llamada “uguisu-jo” que repite constantemente el nombre del candidato (originalmente, el término “uguisu-jo” se refería a las mujeres del personal que se encargaban de los anuncios en los estadios, y posteriormente se comenzó a usar para las mujeres que realizaban discursos en los coches electorales. Se dice que el nombre se les dio porque en aquel entonces, los medios de comunicación las comparaban con el uguisu / Ruiseñor de Japón, un ave que atrae a sus compañeros con su hermosa voz. En el caso de los hombres, por alguna razón se les llama “karasu / Cuervo”).
En el equipo de Kikuchi Tadao, la vocalista de voz potente Ito Kazue ayudaba regularmente, pero tuvo que ausentarse durante dos días por motivos personales. En su lugar, se ofreció a ayudar Satoko Sendo. Como todavía tiene un bebé de siete meses, había acordado que si le dolía el pecho o llegaba el momento de amamantar a su hijo, pediría a los uguisu-jo que se detuvieran en un estacionamiento y que su esposo llevara al niño para amamantarlo. Por lo tanto, estaba muy contenta con la oferta de Satoko.
Creo que es importante experimentar para considerar políticas de crianza. Creo que los padres crían a los hijos, pero también se convierten en padres gracias a ellos. Es decir, creo que sólo se convierten en existencias mediante la práctica, la experiencia, la corrección y la formación de conocimientos. Decir que las mujeres que están amamantando pueden trabajar es fácil, pero creo que sólo cuando se pone en práctica con la gente del entorno, se experimenta, se corrige y se forman conocimientos, se puede crear un ambiente en el que las mujeres que están amamantando puedan trabajar de manera óptima para ambas, la madre y el hijo.
