3月中旬に、秋田県ゆとり生活創造センター（遊学舎）を訪問し、さをり織りサークルの手賀先生にお会いしてきました。（※「さをり」とは自分の感じるままに、好きに織る手織りのことで、感性の手織り、とも呼ばれ、織りに自己を表現するというアートとしての手織りと言われています。）
手賀先生との出会いは、2002年に私が秋田県ゆとり生活創造センター（遊学舎）で働いていた頃にさかのぼります。当時、遊学舎を知ってもらうために、様々な文化講座を企画して、たくさんの方々に遊学舎を利用してもらいました。その数ある講座の中に、「さをり織り」を行う講座があり、その講師の先生が手賀先生でした。一定期間の講座が終わると、その講座に参加した方がサークルを作って活動を始めましたが、20年以上続けられ今でも活動しているサークルがいくつもあります。遊学舎のさをり織りサークルは、さをり織りの魅力も去ることながら、手賀先生ご本人の魅力が、息の長いサークルの本質なのだと思っています。
私が26歳の時、母が50代前半で亡くなりました。父もその数年後に亡くなりました。私のことを遊学舎で勤務していた頃から知っている方は、事あるごとに気にかけて、本当の母や父のように世話を焼いてくださいました。手賀先生もその一人で、母のような温かさをいつも感じていました。また、お顔というか雰囲気というか、本当の母とすごく似ているのもあって、ずっと親しくしていましたし、本当の母のように応援してくれるので、心から安心して甘えています。
自分がここまで成長できたのは、周囲の方や地域の方の支えあってのことです。恩返しするつもりで頑張ります！
Saori weaving circle
In mid-March, I visited the Akita Prefecture Yutori Lifestyle Creation Center (Yugakusha) and met with Ms. Tega, the teacher of a Saori weaving circle. (※”Saori” refers to the hand weaving of one’s own feelings and preferences, also known as “sensory hand weaving,” and is said to be an art of self-expression through weaving.)
I first met Ms. Tega in 2002 when I was working at Yugakusha. At that time, I organized various cultural courses to introduce Yugakusha to people and many people used it. Among the many courses, there was a “Saori weaving” course taught by Ms. Tega. After a certain period of time, the participants in the course formed a circle and started their activities, and there are now several circles that have been active for over 20 years. I think that the allure of Saori weaving as well as the charisma of Ms. Tega herself are the essence of the long-lasting circle at Yugakusha.
When I was 26 years old, my mother passed away in her early 50s. My father also passed away a few years later. Those who knew me since I worked at Yugakusha always looked after me like real parents. Ms. Tega was also one of them, and I always felt her warmth like a mother’s. Also, her face or rather her aura, is very similar to my real mother’s, so I have been close to her and she supports me like a real mother, making me feel safe and comfortable.
The reason I was able to grow this far is thanks to the support of the people around me and in the community. I will do my best to repay their kindness!
Círculo de tejido Saori
A mediados de marzo, visité el Centro de Creación de Estilos de Vida Yutori de la Prefectura de Akita (Yugakusha) y conocí a la profesora Tega, quien dirige un círculo de tejido Saori. (※ “Saori” se refiere al tejido a mano de los propios sentimientos y preferencias, también conocido como “tejido a mano sensorial”, y se dice que es un arte de autoexpresión a través del tejido).
Conocí a la profesora Tega por primera vez en 2002 cuando trabajaba en Yugakusha. En ese momento, organicé varios cursos culturales para presentar Yugakusha a las personas y muchas personas lo utilizaron. Entre los muchos cursos, había un curso de “tejido Saori” impartido por la profesora Tega. Después de un cierto período de tiempo, los participantes del curso formaron un círculo y comenzaron sus actividades, y ahora hay varios círculos que han estado activos durante más de 20 años. Creo que el atractivo del tejido Saori, así como el carisma de la profesora Tega en sí misma, son la esencia del círculo duradero en Yugakusha.
Cuando tenía 26 años, mi madre falleció a principios de los 50. Mi padre también falleció unos años después. Aquellos que me conocían desde que trabajaba en Yugakusha siempre me cuidaron como si fueran mis verdaderos padres. La profesora Tega también fue una de ellas, y siempre sentí su calor como el de una madre. Además, su rostro o más bien su aura, es muy similar a la de mi verdadera madre, así que he estado cerca de ella y me apoya como una verdadera madre, haciéndome sentir segura y cómoda. La razón por la que pude crecer hasta este punto es gracias al apoyo de las personas que me rodean y de la comunidad. ¡Haré todo lo posible para retribuir su amabilidad!
