令和8（2026）年10月10日、里親会主催の交流会「岩城少年自然の家であそぼう」に、イベントボランティアとして参加しました。会場は秋田県立岩城少年自然の家。体育館で体を動かしたり、屋外で釣りをしたりと、参加者の皆さんと一緒に活動する一日となりました。私は秋田県の里親を応援する会に所属しており、県庁職員時代から里親会を支援、普及啓発に関わっています。今回は、私の所属するNGO RASICAのメンバーに声をかけて、4名のボランティアチームで参加しました。
こうした交流会の良さは、何か特別な話題を用意しなくても、一緒に遊ぶ中で同じ時間を過ごせることです。同じ遊びに取り組み、そばで見守り、ときには大人も夢中になる。言葉だけではつくりにくい関係も、体験を共有することで少しずつ育っていくのだと思います。
子どもたちにとって、安心して遊べる場所や、家庭の外で関われる大人がいることは大切です。また、子育てを担う方々にとっても、ほかの人と顔を合わせ、時間を共にできる機会には意味があります。交流を支える人の輪が、地域に広がっていってほしいと感じました。
里親家庭を支えるというと、専門的な知識や大きな役割を思い浮かべるかもしれません。でも、行事を手伝ったり、活動を知ったりすることも、関わりの一歩になります。私自身も、今回のように現場に参加する機会を大切にしながら、理解を深めていきたいと思います。
子どもたちが安心して育つ環境を、地域の中でどう支えていくか。議員として考えるとともに、一人のボランティアとしてもできることを続けていきます。主催された里親会の皆さん、施設の職員の皆さん、一緒に活動した皆さん、ありがとうございました。
【English】October 10, 2026 — Volunteering at Iwaki Youth Nature House
I volunteered at “Let’s Play at Iwaki Youth Nature House,” a gathering organized by the foster parents’ association. We enjoyed games in the gym and fishing outdoors. As a member of a group supporting foster families in Akita, I have helped the association and raised awareness of foster care since my days working for the prefectural government. This time, I invited fellow members of my NGO, RASICA, and we joined as a team of four volunteers.
Playing together helps people connect naturally—even the adults got caught up in the fun! Shared experiences can build trust beyond words. Children need safe places to play and caring adults outside their homes, while caregivers also benefit from spending time with others. I hope this circle of support continues to grow in our community.
Helping foster families can start with something simple, like lending a hand at an event or learning about foster care. I will keep listening and learning through these activities, both as a city council member and as a volunteer, to help children grow up feeling safe and supported. Thank you to the organizers, staff, and everyone who shared the day with us.
【Español】10 de octubre de 2026 — Voluntariado en el Centro Juvenil de Naturaleza de Iwaki
Participé como voluntario en «Juguemos en el Centro Juvenil de Naturaleza de Iwaki», un encuentro organizado por la asociación de familias de acogida. Disfrutamos de juegos en el gimnasio y de la pesca al aire libre. Soy miembro de un grupo que apoya a las familias de acogida de Akita y, desde que trabajaba para el gobierno prefectural, colaboro con la asociación y ayudo a dar a conocer el acogimiento familiar. Esta vez invité a compañeros de mi ONG, RASICA, y participamos como un equipo de cuatro voluntarios.
Jugar juntos nos permite acercarnos de forma natural. ¡Hasta los adultos nos entusiasmamos! Compartir experiencias ayuda a crear una confianza que va más allá de las palabras. Los niños necesitan espacios seguros para jugar y adultos de confianza fuera del hogar. Quienes los cuidan también se benefician de compartir con otras personas. Espero que esta red de apoyo siga creciendo en nuestra comunidad.
Apoyar a las familias de acogida puede empezar con algo sencillo, como ayudar en una actividad o conocer mejor su labor. Seguiré escuchando y aprendiendo, tanto como miembro del concejo municipal como voluntario, para contribuir a que los niños crezcan seguros y acompañados. Gracias a quienes organizaron el encuentro, al personal del centro y a todos los que compartieron este día.
