え、これ自分のことだ…と思った方も多いのではないでしょうか。
「気づけば2月も終わり、何となく忙しいまま春を迎えている」
「仕事や子育てに追われて、社会の動きに目を向ける余裕がない」
実は、そんな日常の中で進んでいる“まちの意思決定”や、“次の時代を担う若者の動き”こそ、私たちの暮らしにじわっと影響してきます。
今回は、秋田市議会議員として取り組んだ2月議会のご報告と、心が大きく動かされた秋田公立美術大学の卒業式への出席についてお伝えします。
■まずは一息…でも中身は濃い「2月議会が閉会」
令和8年2月議会（秋田市議会2月定例会）が無事に終了しました。
「議会」と聞くと少し遠い世界に感じるかもしれませんが、実は皆さんの生活に直結するテーマが数多く議論されています。
例えば、子育て支援の充実、高齢者福祉のあり方、防災対策の強化、地域経済の底上げ…
どれも「ニュースで見たことがある」で終わらせるにはもったいない内容です。
現場での感覚で言えば、議会は“答えを出す場所”であると同時に、“問いを深める場所”でもあります。すぐに正解が出ないテーマほど、議論の積み重ねが重要になるのです。
今回の議会でも、「これで十分」と言い切れるものは一つもありませんでした。
だからこそ、次にどうつなげていくかが問われています。
■制約の中で育った世代「コロナ禍入学の卒業生たち」
続いて出席したのが、秋田公立美術大学・大学院の卒業式です。
沼谷市長の言葉が印象的でした。
コロナ禍という制約のある時期に入学した皆さんにとって、創造することはとても難しかったのではないか
まさにその通りだと思います。
人と会えない、発表の場が制限される、思うように制作できない。
芸術にとって「制約」は、ときに創造の源にもなりますが、同時に大きな壁でもあります。
それでも彼らは、その制約を乗り越えてこの日を迎えました。
会場の空気は、どこか静かで、それでいて力強い。
「やりきった」という確かな手応えが感じられました。
■重力すら超える発想「領域横断が生む新しい価値」
学長告辞の中で、今年の学長賞の卒業作品についての言及があり、思わずメモを取る手が止まらなくなった場面がありました。
本学は立体・平面にこだわらず、領域横断で学ぶ
つまり、「絵は絵」「彫刻は彫刻」といった枠を超えて学ぶということです。
さらに驚いたのは作品の考え方です。
- 宙に浮かせたまま制作する手法
- 重力や引力を前提にしてきた従来の表現、そこに“空気”や“湿度”といった目に見えない要素を加える
北郷学長は、これはもう、芸術というより“世界の見方そのものを変える試み”だと感じていたのではないでしょうか。新しい世界に触れた興奮が伝わってきました。
たとえば私たちの日常でも、
「当たり前」と思っている前提を一つ外すだけで、まったく違う景色が見えることがあります。
議会も同じです。
制度や前例に縛られすぎると、新しい解決策は生まれません。
若い世代の柔軟な発想に、むしろこちらが学ばされる瞬間でした。
■「正解はない」時代を生きる力
学長の言葉でもう一つ強く残ったのがこちらです。
AIが台頭する複雑な社会の中で、自分の力が大きな指針になる。良い方法などありません。
この一言、かなり本質を突いています。
AIが発達し、情報があふれる時代。
「正解を探す力」よりも、「自分で問いを立てる力」が求められています。
そしてもう一つ。
社会を相手に学ぶ姿勢が求められる。それが社会で生きるということ。
これは議員である私自身にも突き刺さる言葉でした。
現場に出て、人の声を聞き、そこから学び続ける。
この姿勢を忘れた瞬間に、政治も形だけのものになってしまいます。
■胸を打たれた謝辞「支えてくれた全ての人へ」
第10期生である秋元玲奈さんの卒業生代表の謝辞も忘れられません。
その言葉は、仲間、教員、家族、そして関わってくれたすべての人への感謝であふれていました。特別な言葉を使っているわけではないのに、なぜか心に刺さる。
おそらくそれは、言葉の裏側にある“時間”や“葛藤”が伝わってくるからだと思います。
人は一人では生きていけない。
でも、その当たり前を本気で言葉にできる人は意外と少ない。
会場のあちこちで、そっと涙をぬぐう姿があったのではないでしょうか。
■まとめ：自分の暮らしと「社会」を少しだけつなげてみる
議会と卒業式。
一見まったく違う場ですが、共通して感じたことがあります。
それは、
「社会は誰かがつくるものではなく、私たち一人ひとりの積み重ねでできている」ということです。
忙しい日々の中で、全部を知る必要はありません。
でも、ほんの少しだけでいい。地域のニュースに目を向ける。若い世代の声に耳を傾ける。自分の意見を持ってみる。その一歩が、まちを確実に変えていきます。
春は、新しいスタートの季節です。
ぜひ、自分の暮らしと「社会」を少しだけつなげてみてください。
その一歩、意外と未来を動かします。

February Assembly Has Ended & A Moving Graduation Ceremony
Have you ever felt like this?
“February is already over, and I’ve been busy without even noticing.”
“I’m so busy with work or family that I don’t have time to think about what’s happening in society.”
In fact, the decisions being made in our city and the actions of young people who will shape the future quietly affect our daily lives.
Today, I would like to share two things:
a report on the February city assembly, and my experience attending the graduation ceremony of Akita University of Art.
The February Assembly: Close to Your Daily Life
The February assembly has ended.
The word “assembly” may sound distant, but many of the topics discussed are directly connected to your daily life.
For example:
childcare support, services for older people, disaster preparedness, and the local economy.
These are not topics we should just see on the news and forget.
From my experience, the assembly is not only a place to make decisions, but also a place to deepen questions.
Many issues do not have simple answers. That is why continuous discussion is important.
In this assembly, there was nothing we could say was “perfect.”
That is exactly why the next step matters.
Students Who Faced the Pandemic
I also attended the graduation ceremony of Akita University of Art.
The mayor said something that stayed with me:
“For students who entered during the COVID-19 pandemic, creating art must have been very difficult.”
I strongly agree.
They could not meet people freely.
They had fewer chances to present their work.
They could not always create as they wanted.
Limitations can sometimes inspire creativity, but they can also be a big obstacle.
Still, they overcame these challenges and reached this day.
The atmosphere at the ceremony was quiet, yet powerful.
You could feel their strong sense of achievement.
New Ideas Beyond Boundaries
During the president’s speech, one idea really caught my attention.
Students here learn beyond traditional boundaries like painting or sculpture.
They are not limited by categories.
They think freely across different fields.
Some works are even created while floating in space, not limited by gravity.
They also include invisible elements like air and humidity in their ideas.
This is not just art.
It is a new way of seeing the world.
In our daily lives, if we let go of one “common assumption,” we can suddenly see things in a completely different way.
The same is true in politics.
If we rely too much on old systems and past examples, we cannot create new solutions.
I felt that we have much to learn from the flexible thinking of young people.
Living in an Age Without Clear Answers
Another message from the president stayed with me:
“In a complex society with AI, your own thinking becomes your guide. There is no single correct answer.”
This is very true.
Today, information is everywhere.
What matters is not just finding answers, but asking good questions.
And one more important idea:
“We must learn from society itself. That is what it means to live in society.”
This also applies to me as a city council member.
Listening to people, learning from real situations—
if we stop doing this, politics loses its meaning.
A Heartfelt Message of Gratitude
The speech by the student representative was also very touching.
She spoke about her gratitude to friends, teachers, family, and everyone who supported her.
Her words were simple, but they deeply moved the audience.
I believe it is because her words carried real experiences, struggles, and time.
We all know we cannot live alone.
But not many people can express this truth so honestly.
I am sure many people in the audience were quietly moved to tears.
Conclusion: Connecting Your Life to Society
The assembly and the graduation ceremony may seem very different.
But I felt one common message:
Society is not created by someone else.
It is built by each one of us.
You don’t need to know everything.
But even a small step matters.
Pay a little attention to local news.
Listen to the voices of young people.
Think about your own opinion.
That small step can change our city.
Spring is a season of new beginnings.
Why not connect your daily life with society, even just a little?
That small step may shape the future.

Finalizó la asamblea de febrero y una emotiva ceremonia de graduación
¿Le ha pasado esto alguna vez?
“Ya terminó febrero y ni me di cuenta por lo ocupado que estuve.”
“Estoy tan ocupado con el trabajo o la familia que no tengo tiempo para pensar en la sociedad.”
En realidad, las decisiones que se toman en nuestra ciudad y las acciones de los jóvenes que construirán el futuro influyen poco a poco en nuestra vida diaria.
Hoy quiero compartir dos temas:
un informe sobre la asamblea de febrero y mi experiencia en la ceremonia de graduación de la Universidad de Arte de Akita.
La asamblea de febrero: muy cercana a su vida
La asamblea de febrero ha finalizado.
La palabra “asamblea” puede parecer lejana, pero muchos de los temas tratados están directamente relacionados con su vida diaria.
Por ejemplo:
el apoyo a la crianza, el bienestar de las personas mayores, la prevención de desastres y la economía local.
No son temas para ver en las noticias y olvidarlos.
Desde mi experiencia, la asamblea es un lugar para tomar decisiones, pero también para profundizar en las preguntas.
Muchos temas no tienen respuestas simples.
Por eso es importante seguir discutiendo.
En esta asamblea, no hubo nada que pudiéramos decir que fuera “perfecto”.
Por eso, lo importante es qué hacemos a partir de ahora.
Estudiantes que vivieron la pandemia
También asistí a la ceremonia de graduación de la Universidad de Arte de Akita.
El alcalde dijo algo muy importante:
“Para los estudiantes que ingresaron durante la pandemia, crear arte debió ser muy difícil.”
Estoy totalmente de acuerdo.
No podían reunirse libremente.
Había menos oportunidades para presentar sus obras.
No siempre podían crear como querían.
Las limitaciones pueden inspirar creatividad, pero también pueden ser un gran obstáculo.
Aun así, lograron superar esas dificultades.
El ambiente en la ceremonia era tranquilo, pero muy fuerte.
Se sentía claramente el logro alcanzado.
Nuevas ideas más allá de los límites
Durante el discurso del rector, hubo una idea que me llamó mucho la atención.
Los estudiantes aprenden más allá de los límites tradicionales como la pintura o la escultura.
No están limitados por categorías.
Piensan de manera libre entre diferentes áreas.
Algunas obras incluso se crean sin depender de la gravedad.
También incorporan elementos invisibles como el aire o la humedad.
Esto no es solo arte.
Es una nueva forma de ver el mundo.
En la vida diaria, si dejamos de lado una “idea fija”, podemos ver cosas completamente diferentes.
Lo mismo ocurre en la política.
Si nos aferramos demasiado a sistemas antiguos, no surgen nuevas soluciones.
Sentí que tenemos mucho que aprender del pensamiento flexible de los jóvenes.
Vivir en una época sin respuestas únicas
Otra frase del rector me impactó:
“En una sociedad compleja con IA, su propio criterio será su guía. No existe una única respuesta correcta.”
Esto es muy cierto.
Hoy en día hay demasiada información.
Lo importante no es solo encontrar respuestas, sino hacer buenas preguntas.
Y también:
“Debemos aprender de la sociedad. Eso es vivir en sociedad.”
Esto también aplica a mí como concejal.
Escuchar a las personas y aprender de la realidad es esencial.
Si dejamos de hacerlo, la política pierde su sentido.
Un mensaje lleno de gratitud
El discurso de la representante de los estudiantes fue muy conmovedor.
Expresó su gratitud hacia sus compañeros, profesores, familia y todas las personas que la apoyaron.
Sus palabras eran simples, pero muy profundas.
Creo que fue porque transmitían experiencias reales y esfuerzos vividos.
Todos sabemos que no podemos vivir solos.
Pero pocas personas logran expresar eso con tanta sinceridad.
Seguramente muchas personas en el público se emocionaron.
Conclusión: conectar su vida con la sociedad
La asamblea y la ceremonia parecen muy diferentes.
Pero tienen algo en común:
La sociedad no la construye “alguien más”.
La construimos entre todos.
No necesita saberlo todo.
Pero un pequeño paso es suficiente.
Prestar un poco de atención a las noticias locales.
Escuchar a los jóvenes.
Tener su propia opinión.
Ese pequeño paso puede cambiar la ciudad.
La primavera es una temporada de nuevos comienzos.
Le invito a conectar su vida con la sociedad, aunque sea un poco.
Ese pequeño paso puede mover el futuro.
