2025年6月22日早朝、秋田市下浜にある秋田市羽川運動広場において「第16回 秋田市西部地区 500歳野球大会」が開催され、開会式に出席しました。
この野球大会は、地域のシニア世代によるユニークな交流大会であり、健康増進と親睦を兼ねた素晴らしい行事だと思います。この場で、偶然ですが、中学校の恩師と35年ぶりに再会し、今度飲みにいく約束をしました。とても楽しみです！
ちなみに、恩師は野球大会の審判をしに来ており、声を聞いた瞬間に背筋が自然にピンとなりその存在に気がつきました笑
午後 スチールパンフェスティバルに参加
2025年6月22日、千秋公園で開催された「スチールパンフェスティバル」に足を運びました。NGO RASICAの副代表を務める本山治さんが、ドラムとして出演されると聞き、久しぶりに現場の音を体感。フェスティバルには偶然出会った旧友たちとの再会もあり、地域文化と人とのつながりの温かさを感じる時間となりました。

June 22, 2025 – Attended the Opening of the 16th Akita City West 500-Year-Old Baseball Tournament
Early in the morning, I joined the opening ceremony of the 16th “500-Year-Old Baseball Tournament” held in Hanekawa Sports Field in Shimohama, Akita City.
This fun tournament brings together seniors from the community for health and friendship through baseball. A very special moment happened—I met my junior high school teacher for the first time in 35 years! We promised to go out for a drink soon. I’m really looking forward to it.
(He was there as an umpire. The moment I heard his voice, I stood up straight out of habit—it’s amazing how you remember your teacher’s presence!)
Afternoon – Visited the Steel Pan Festival
Later that day, I visited the Steel Pan Festival at Senshu Park. I wanted to hear Mr. Haru Motoyama, a fellow NGO RASICA member, play drums in a band.
The music was great, and I even ran into some old friends by chance. It reminded me how local culture and human connections can warm your heart.

22 de junio de 2025 – Asistí a la inauguración del 16.º Torneo de Béisbol “500 años” en la zona oeste de Akita
Muy temprano por la mañana, participé en la ceremonia de apertura del Torneo de Béisbol “500 años” en el campo deportivo de Hanekawa, en Shimohama, ciudad de Akita.
Este torneo reúne a adultos mayores de la comunidad para promover la salud y fortalecer los lazos entre ellos. Fue un evento especial porque, de manera inesperada, me encontré con mi profesor de secundaria ¡después de 35 años! Hicimos planes para salir a tomar algo pronto. Estoy muy emocionado.
(Él estaba como árbitro en el torneo. ¡Con solo oír su voz, me puse derecho sin darme cuenta! El respeto nunca se olvida.)
Por la tarde – Festival de Steel Pan
Más tarde, fui al Festival de Steel Pan en el parque Senshū. Fui para apoyar a Haru Motoyama, vicepresidente de nuestra ONG RASICA, quien tocaba la batería en uno de los grupos.
La música fue increíble, y además me encontré por casualidad con viejos amigos. Fue un momento cálido que me recordó lo valioso que es el vínculo entre la cultura local y las personas.
