2024年10月10日（木）に、勝平地区にある勝平日吉神社の第33回例大祭が開かれましたので参加してきました。今年は、10月9日に宵宮祭が行われ、10日にはお神輿巡行があり、たくさんの町内の方が参加されました。
昨年は、突然のクマ来襲により、宵宮祭は前日に中止の発表、例大祭は行われましたが直会は中止になりました。当然ですがクマに襲われた住民の方はもちろんのこと、全ての祭事の準備を終えて目前で中止となった勝平日吉神社祭典実行委員会の皆様も大変な思いをしたと思います。それを乗り越えてのお祭りでしたので関係者の皆様は大変嬉しかったと思います。
このお祭りは自分が子どもの頃にはなかったお祭りですが、33年も行われており（ということは自分が高校生の頃に始まったのか！）毎年楽しみにしているお子さんも多いと思います。神社を中心に地域がまとまるのは日本の原風景だなぁとしみじみ思いました。

Katsuhira Hiyoshi Shrine Festival
On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the 33rd annual festival of Katsuhira Hiyoshi Shrine, located in the Katsuhira area, was held, and I participated. This year, the evening festival took place on October 9, and the portable shrine procession was held on the 10th, with many local residents joining in.
Last year, due to a sudden bear sighting, the evening festival was canceled the day before, and although the main festival proceeded, the after-festival gathering was canceled. I can only imagine how difficult it was, not just for the residents affected by the bear, but also for the Katsuhira Hiyoshi Shrine Festival Committee, who had worked so hard to prepare everything only to face a sudden cancellation. This year’s festival must have brought great joy to everyone involved.
Although this festival didn’t exist when I was a child, it’s been held for 33 years now (which means it must have started when I was in high school!), and I’m sure many children look forward to it every year. Seeing the community come together around the shrine really makes me appreciate how this reflects Japan’s traditional way of life.

Festival anual del Santuario Hiyoshi en Katsuhira
El jueves 10 de octubre de 2024, se celebró el 33º festival anual del Santuario Hiyoshi en Katsuhira, y participé en él. Este año, el festival vespertino se llevó a cabo el 9 de octubre, y el 10 de octubre hubo una procesión del santuario portátil, con la participación de muchos residentes locales.
El año pasado, debido a un avistamiento repentino de un oso, el festival vespertino se canceló el día anterior. Aunque el festival principal se realizó, se canceló la reunión posterior al festival. Me imagino lo difícil que debió haber sido, no solo para los residentes afectados por el oso, sino también para el Comité del Festival del Santuario Hiyoshi en Katsuhira, que había trabajado arduamente para preparar todo solo para enfrentar una cancelación repentina. Este año, el festival debe haber traído gran alegría a todos los involucrados.
Aunque este festival no existía cuando era niño, se ha celebrado durante 33 años (¡lo que significa que debe haber comenzado cuando estaba en la secundaria!), y estoy seguro de que muchos niños lo esperan con entusiasmo cada año. Ver cómo la comunidad se une alrededor del santuario me hace apreciar profundamente cómo esto refleja la forma de vida tradicional de Japón.
