東日本大震災で災害の現場に初めて入った時、泥だらけの自衛隊の方々の活動には頭が下がりました。その後、県庁在籍時には県南の鳥インフルエンザ対応、秋田市の豪雨災害での災害ゴミの運搬など、人が嫌がる現場の最前線で活動される所でよく自衛隊の方々に会いました。その練度の高さから、活動にすごく安心感を覚えました。長女が自衛隊の音楽隊にいたこともあり（現在は辞めています）、何か自分でも協力することはないだろうかと考え、特殊技能（語学・スペイン語）の予備自衛官に応募して無事に合格しました。2年間で10日間の訓練をすると予備自衛官になれます（現時点では予備自衛官補）ので頑張りたいと思います！

About Reserve Self-Defense Officials
When I first arrived at the disaster site after the Great East Japan Earthquake, I was deeply moved by the efforts of the Self-Defense Forces members, covered in mud. Later, during my time working at the prefectural office, I often encountered Self-Defense Forces members on the front lines of difficult situations, such as dealing with avian flu in the southern part of the prefecture or transporting disaster waste during heavy rain in Akita City. Their high level of skill and dedication always gave me a great sense of reassurance. My eldest daughter was also in the Self-Defense Forces band (she has since left), and this made me think about how I could contribute as well. I decided to apply to become a reserve Self-Defense official with special skills in language (Spanish). I am happy to say that I passed. By completing ten days of training over two years, I will become a reserve Self-Defense official (currently, I am a reserve candidate). I am committed to doing my best!

Sobre los Oficiales de Reserva de la Autodefensa
Cuando llegué por primera vez al lugar del desastre después del Gran Terremoto del Este de Japón, me conmovieron profundamente los esfuerzos de los miembros de las Fuerzas de Autodefensa, cubiertos de barro. Más tarde, durante mi tiempo trabajando en la oficina de la prefectura, a menudo me encontraba con miembros de las Fuerzas de Autodefensa en las líneas frontales de situaciones difíciles, como lidiar con la gripe aviar en la parte sur de la prefectura o transportando desechos durante fuertes lluvias en la Ciudad de Akita. Su alto nivel de habilidad y dedicación siempre me dio una gran sensación de tranquilidad. Mi hija mayor también estuvo en la banda de las Fuerzas de Autodefensa (ya no está), y esto me hizo pensar en cómo podría contribuir también. Decidí postularme para convertirme en oficial de reserva de las Fuerzas de Autodefensa con habilidades especiales en idiomas (español). Estoy feliz de decir que pasé. Al completar diez días de entrenamiento en dos años, me convertiré en un oficial de reserva de las Fuerzas de Autodefensa (actualmente soy candidato de reserva). ¡Estoy comprometido a dar lo mejor de mí!
