2024年2月議会代表質問で再質問を行った際に、秋田市の生物多様性に関する普及啓発のやり方が、ただパンフレットを配付するだけなのでよくない、という指摘をさせていただきました。環境部長からは工夫していくとの回答をいただいておりました。
6月が環境月間でしたが、秋田市役所の1階の市民ホールでの展示の中に「生物多様性」に関する説明やパンフの配架がありました！
加えて秋田市内の各図書館で生物多様性に関連する本のコーナーを作っていただきました！超嬉しい！
昨年議会事務局にいたMさんが今年度から環境部に異動になり、庁内でお会いした時に教えていただいき、とても嬉しかったです！発信の仕方を工夫して行なっていて素晴らしいと思いました。
一般的なことですが、このような秋田市当局の議員が言及した事項への対応全般について、言及のあったすべての議員には何らかの形で知らせた方がいいと思いました。発信力のある議員ならウェブサイトやSNS等で拡散しますし。今回たまたまMさんにお会いしたので知りましたが、普通にしていたら知らないままでしたので、そこは工夫というか注意して市役所当局も議員に発信するべきだなと思います。

Raising Awareness about Biodiversity
In February 2024, during a representative question session in the city council, I pointed out that Akita City’s approach to raising awareness about biodiversity was inadequate, as it relied solely on distributing pamphlets. The head of the Environmental Department responded that they would be more creative in their efforts.
June is Environment Month, and I was delighted to see that the exhibition in the citizen hall on the first floor of the Akita City Hall included explanations and pamphlets about biodiversity! Additionally, each library in Akita City created a section featuring books related to biodiversity. This made me extremely happy!
I learned about these developments from Ms. M, who moved from the council secretariat to the Environmental Department this fiscal year. She informed me when we met at the office, and I was thrilled to hear it. I think the innovative way they are spreading information is wonderful.
On a broader note, I believe it’s important for Akita City authorities to inform all council members about their responses to issues raised by the members. If a member is particularly good at communication, they can spread the information through their website or social media. I happened to meet Ms. M and found out about these initiatives, but otherwise, I would have remained unaware. The city hall should be more careful and proactive in communicating with council members.

Difusión y concienciación sobre la biodiversidad
En febrero de 2024, durante una sesión de preguntas representativas en el consejo municipal, señalé que el enfoque de la Ciudad de Akita para aumentar la concienciación sobre la biodiversidad era inadecuado, ya que se basaba únicamente en la distribución de folletos. El jefe del Departamento de Medio Ambiente respondió que serían más creativos en sus esfuerzos.
Junio es el Mes del Medio Ambiente y me alegró mucho ver que la exposición en el salón ciudadano del primer piso del Ayuntamiento de Akita incluía explicaciones y folletos sobre la biodiversidad. Además, cada biblioteca de la ciudad de Akita creó una sección con libros relacionados con la biodiversidad. ¡Esto me hizo muy feliz!
Me enteré de estos desarrollos gracias a la Sra. M, quien se trasladó de la secretaría del consejo al Departamento de Medio Ambiente este año fiscal. Ella me informó cuando nos encontramos en la oficina y me emocionó escuchar la noticia. Creo que la forma innovadora en que están difundiendo la información es maravillosa.
En una nota más general, creo que es importante que las autoridades de la Ciudad de Akita informen a todos los miembros del consejo sobre sus respuestas a los temas planteados por los miembros. Si un miembro es particularmente bueno en la comunicación, puede difundir la información a través de su sitio web o redes sociales. Me encontré con la Sra. M y me enteré de estas iniciativas, pero de lo contrario, no habría sabido nada. El ayuntamiento debe ser más cuidadoso y proactivo al comunicarse con los miembros del consejo.
